BreakBulk Caspian 2024 Conference

October 2024

Last week, our employees from the Estonian and Georgian offices, Maria Mahhorina and Vazha Pachulia, attended the BreakBulk Caspian conference in Georgia.

The conference centered on crucial industry developments, particularly examining the impact of the current geopolitical situation on logistics chains and the notable shift of logistics flows towards the southern corridor. A key focus was the growing significance of the transport corridor and Georgia’s strategic role as a transit country.

Our team’s attendance was driven by multiple objectives: directly connecting with cargo owners to showcase our services, introducing our capabilities in Poti and throughout Georgia, and establishing new partnerships in oversized and air freight. We also sought to engage freight forwarders for potential collaboration in multimodal transportation.

During the event, we highlighted not only our hub in Poti to potential partners but also emphasized our established presence in Kazakhstan. This strategic location enables us to facilitate shipments from China to Kazakhstan and beyond to any global destination via the southern corridor.

The conference provided valuable opportunities to reconnect with existing partners who, based on their positive experiences with us, offered recommendations to their colleagues and partners. We also forged new connections in oversized freight with carriers possessing extensive experience and necessary fleet capabilities, enhancing our competitiveness in project work.

Notable outcomes included promising discussions with potential partners for routes in Central Asia, Italy, and India. Our company’s comprehensive service offerings garnered significant interest among participants, resulting in two concrete requests from conference attendees already.

While we would rate the overall conference experience 7/10, with some organizational challenges and unexpected absences of announced participants, the networking and business development opportunities proved valuable for our ongoing expansion in the region.
